Pool Filter Repair — Sacramento Valley

Pool Filter Issues? We Diagnose, Repair, and Replace.

Your pool filter is your primary line of defense against cloudy water, debris, and bacteria. When it fails — or when it's undersized, clogged, or cracked — your water quality deteriorates fast. Synergy Pools repairs and services all three types of pool filters: cartridge, diatomaceous earth (DE), and sand filters.

We service residential and commercial pools throughout Sacramento, Roseville, Rocklin, Granite Bay, Folsom, and surrounding Sacramento Valley communities.

Common Pool Filter Problems We Fix

  • High pressure reading on filter gauge — filter needs cleaning or is damaged

  • Low pressure — pump issue, clogged impeller, or major filter failure

  • Filter not clearing cloudy or dirty water

  • DE filter pushing DE powder back into the pool

  • Sand filter channeling — water bypassing the sand bed

  • Cracked filter housing, broken laterals, or damaged manifold

  • Multiport valve leaking internally or externally

  • Cartridge filter with torn, collapsed, or clogged elements

  • Backwash valve not sealing properly

The Three Filter Types — What We Work On

Cartridge Filters

Cartridge filters are the most common type in new pool installations across the Sacramento Valley. They require periodic cleaning and cartridge replacement (typically every 2–4 years depending on use). We diagnose cracked housings, failed O-rings, collapsed cartridges, and sizing issues.

Diatomaceous Earth (DE) Filters

DE filters provide the finest filtration of all three types and are popular in Granite Bay and Folsom-area pools. Common problems include torn grids or fingers that allow DE powder to return to the pool, failed manifolds, and broken assembly components. We repair and replace all internal DE filter components.

Sand Filters

Sand filters are lower-maintenance but can develop channeling (where water creates a path around the sand) or require sand replacement every 5–7 years. We also diagnose and repair multiport valve failures, broken laterals, and cracked tanks.

Repair vs Replace — What We Recommend

Filter repairs are often cost-effective when the tank is intact and the issue is isolated to internal components, O-rings, or the multiport valve. When the tank is cracked, structurally compromised, or the filter is undersized for your pool volume, replacement makes more sense. We'll give you both options with honest pricing.
